Classical Music Institoot

The CMI Program offers a joyful learning adventure for young children, ages two through six and their families.

CMI leverages children’s natural love for music and their intrinsic musical ability to teach cognitive, social, and emotional skills in a fun way.

In CMI classes students explore and experience the creative intelligence, the emotional power, and the artistic beauty of famous classical selections and motifs. It’s never to early  to start learning music!

Sing, clap, dance, play piano, or play a drum along with famous classical pieces  like Bach’s Minuet in G, Grieg’s Hall of the Mountain King, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee,  and Beethoven’s Fifth and Ninth Symphonies, to mention  just a few.

Learn the meaning and sound of key musical terms like tempo, presto, lento, piano, mezzo, forte, melody, harmony, motif, solo, duet, plus the names and sounds  of Instruments in an orchestra, AND MUCH MORE !

Teaching the whole child – body, mind, heart using holistic education strategies, including Strength-Based Teaching, and Multiple Intelligences (Dr. Howard Gardner, Harvard University 1983). CMI provides effective, exciting experiential teaching and learning that’s big fun.

CMI supports each child’s development by fostering positive social integration and cooperation, communication skills, cognitive focus and concentration,  emotional intelligence and resilience, fine and gross motor skills, and a lifelong love of music and the creative process.
